AIGA NY Eye on Design Stewardship Proposal Support

As part of our renewed focus on expanding our footprint as a publisher, advocate, and cultural record of design in New York and beyond, we are excited to share that we are in the process of preparing a proposal to AIGA National to enable us to assume stewardship of the beloved retired platform, AIGA Eye on Design.
In conversations with our board and community, we identified a core desire to revive the publication as an important editorial and cultural platform for the design community—one that can build on Eye on Design’s legacy while creating a sustainable model for its future.
We have developed a plan to revive Eye on Design that retains its strong editorial point of view while becoming more fiscally independent and responsibly positioned for longevity as a resource for the community. Our vision is for the publication to be rooted in New York while drawing on AIGA NY’s extensive national and international network, bringing a broad range of voices and perspectives to the conversation around design.
As part of our proposal, we would like to open with a letter of support from the journalists, designers, creative leaders, editors, educators, and other members of the community who understand the value of Eye on Design and believe in its future. We hope this letter will demonstrate to AIGA National that there is both a strong desire to see the publication revived and a community ready to help make that vision possible.
Please read the enclosed letter and affix your signature in support by Friday, August 21.
Your signature does not commit you to any future involvement with the publication; it simply demonstrates your support for AIGA NY’s proposal to revive Eye on Design and entrust its next chapter to our leadership.
